Minister of Cultural Affairs proclaims Bizerte “City of Arts” and reaffirms Ministry’s support for all ambitious cultural projects

Minister of Cultural Affairs Mohamed Zine el Abidine underlined his department readiness to support any serious cultural action or project in the regions reaffirming the will to provide assistance to cultural spaces by granting them financial support.

In a statement to TAP during a visit Saturday in the governorate of Bizerte that he proclaimed City of Arts, he said that the ministry will work in accordance with programme contracts for a whole year with active and long-standing associations such as the association of the renaissance theatre of Bizerte whose date of creation dates back to more than 94 years.

He added that a very important financial support will be granted to 100 artisans from Sejnane through the regional council of the governorate. The minister also mentioned that efforts will focus on accelerating the procedures for the project of achieving the culture Centre of Mateur.

During this visit, the Minister of Cultural Affairs visited several cultural spaces, including the Ezzahra Institute of Music and the Majestic area, where he learned about its activities and the working conditions.
