A framework partnership agreement was signed Thursday between the Ministry of Women, Family and Seniors and the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR).
The agreement aims to establish a joint programme nationally and regionally in the areas of economic and social empowerment of women and fight against various forms of discrimination and violence to women.
The Ministry commits under this agreement to exchange researches and reports related to statistics dealing with the development of the situation of women and the result of researches and studies of joint activities as well as facilitating cooperation in the field of economic and social empowerment of women.
The CAWTAR centre will focus on coordination with the ministry to carry out a set of programmes and participate in activities and training sessions as well as exchange of working visits.
Minister of Women Imen Zahouani placed emphasis on the complementarity of the Ministry’s programmes with the centre’s projects aimed at the dissemination of the culture of women’s rights and the consolidation of its place in society.
Executive Director of CAWTAR Soukeina Bouraoui, for her part, spoke about the centre’s projects, including that of social innovation in the food industry in the Mediterranean region InovAgroWoMed.
