Mohamed Tlili Mansri elected president of ISIE with 115 votes [Upd 1]

Mohamed Tlili Mansri was elected president of the Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE) with 115 votes at plenary meeting of the House of People’s Representatives on Tuesday.

Najla Brahem collected 49 votes and Anis Jarboui 5 votes, while Farouk Bouasker and Anouar Ben Hassan who has so far served as interim president of ISIE have obtained no votes.

Earlier, the HPR Bureau had met with the presidents of the parliamentary groups and the sorting committee to rule on the twin vote by MP Leila Ouled Ali.

The parliament had failed four times to elect the president of ISIE who needed to obtain an absolute majority (109 votes).
