Monastir: two dead, 82 wounded in crash of bus carrying female workers (updated toll)

Two people died and 82 injured in the accident that occurred Saturday morning at 6:46 am, at the main road in Sidi Bennour, Moknine delegation (Monastir governorate), involving two buses carrying female workers, according to an updated toll provided by Hichem Belhaj, director of preventive health at the regional health directorate.

Many of the wounded, who were taken to the Monastir regional hospitals, left the hospital after receiving the necessary treatment.

One case remains in the regional hospital of Mahdia, four pregnant workers are under medical supervision in the Moknine Regional Hospital and four wounded are still admitted to the University Hospital Fattouma Bourguiba, the same source told TAP correspondent.

The accident occurred when two buses carrying female workers from a garment factory in Touza collided, one of the buses overturned.

Two female workers (two sisters) died instantly.
