More than 80% of budget of Ministry of Women goes to child care sector (Director)

More than 80% of the budget of the Ministry of Women, Family and Child is allocated to the child care sector, reflecting the priority the sector has in the government’s policy, Director General of Women and Family Affairs Imen Zahouani Houimel told TAP on Sunday.

Speaking at the closing of the National Child Day in Ben Arous, the Director General said the ministry is working to put in place a programme to create the conditions conducive to a healthy education focused on early childhood development.

The director added that the ministry is also working to implement “ambitious” programmes on parental education and positive fatherhood to effectively share roles within the family.

On National Child Day, the ministry has developed targeted cultural programmes and outreach programmes in spaces and clubs for children in all regions of the country, she said.
