Moroccan Delegation Participates in Conference of Assembly and Section Presidents of African Region of Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie in Djibouti

This conference, marked by the participation of the speakers of several Parliaments of the countries of the Francophone African space, is held on the eve of the 28th session of the Assembly of the African Region to address several points on the agenda including peace, stability and health justice, the role of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in the integration and development of the continent, women’s place in political, economic and social development as well as the challenges related to the environment and climate change, said a statement of the House of Advisors (Upper House).

This meeting is an opportunity for all participants to address the political situation in some French-speaking countries in addition to the presentation and review of the report prepared by the chargé de mission of the Africa Region for the period starting from January 2021 till today.

Speaking on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as deput president of the APF, MP Mohamed Ghayate (The group of the National Rally of Independents – RNI) reiterated the support of Morocco to the territorial integrity and national unity of African countries and its commitment to a peaceful resolution of conflicts to promote peace, stability and sustainable development in Africa.

In this regard, he mentioned the visits of HM King Mohammed VI to several African countries in consecration of the spirit of solidarity and South-South cooperation in all areas, including the promotion of the situation of women, environmental protection and the fight against climate change.

Ghayate also emphasized the importance of the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to strengthen intra-African trade relations, encourage investment and achieve better integration of production chains.

The Moroccan delegation includes the chairwoman of the Committee on Public Finance Control at the House of Representatives, Latifa Lablih (Authenticity and Modernity group -PAM) and Mps Lhoussaine Ouallal (RNI) and Amina Hamdani (Moroccan Workers’ Union- UMT).
