Morocco Records 3,451 New COVID-19 Cases over Past 24 Hours

A total of 19,745,725 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 16,257,925 the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 896,913 while recoveries rise to 844,489, i.e. a recovery rate of 94.2%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,100), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1,057), Marrakech-Safi (146), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (364), the Oriental (344), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (114), Fez-Meknes (112), Souss-Massa (84), Guelmim-Oued Noun (50), Draa-Tafilalet (38), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (22) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (20).

As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 13,370 with 74 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (20), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (14), Marrakech-Safi (5), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (06), the Oriental (07), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (9), Fez-Meknes (3), Souss-Massa (3), Guelmim-Oued Noun (03), Draa-Tafilalet (2), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1), the ministry said, noting that the fatality rate has reached 1.5%.

The number of active cases stands at 39,054 including 1,922 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
