Morocco Reports 159 New COVID-19 Cases over Past 24 Hours

A total of 24,753,009 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 23,206,108, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, noting that 5,798,138 people have received the third dose of the vaccine.

According to the same source, the number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rises to 1,161,290 while recoveries increase to 1,141,932, i.e. a recovery rate of 98.3%.

The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (32), the Oriental (27), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (21), Fez-Meknes (18), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (15), Souss-Massa (15), Marrakech-Safi (14), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (06), Guelmim-Oued Noun (04), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (04), Draa-Tafilalet (02) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01).

As for coronavirus-related fatalities, they rose to 16,002 (fatality rate of 1.4%), with 8 new deaths reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (02), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (02), Souss-Massa (02), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, (01) and Beni Mellal-Khenifra (01).

The number of active cases has dropped to 3,356 including 178 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said
