Moree junction: Students have been advised against drug usage as that could lead to addiction and subsequently jeopardize their future. Mr. Leonard Edem Cosmos, President of the MoFCOM Scholars' Alumni Association of Ghana (MoSAAG), emphasized the importance of avoiding negative peer influence and encouraged students to focus on their academics to become useful citizens of the country.

According to Ghana News Agency, the advice was given during a mentorship program aimed at promoting the need for education among young people and challenging them to strive for excellence. The program was organized by the beneficiaries of the People's Republic of China's Ministry of Commerce scholarship, known as the Ministry of Commerce Alumni Association Ghana (MoSAAG).

As part of the event, the group donated over three thousand exercise books, along with pencils, pens, and erasers, to enhance teaching and learning at the Moree Junction Islamic School in the Central Region. Mr. Cosmos noted that this gesture was part of the Association's annual corporate social responsibility initiative, sponsored by the Chinese Government.

Since its establishment, MoSAAG has engaged in various community impact activities, including capacity building for its members, donations to flood victims, health screenings, and the construction of boreholes across Ghana. Mr. Cosmos stated that these efforts aim to provide relief to underprivileged communities.

He also called on the public and organizations to assist the deprived in society and reaffirmed the Association's commitment to promoting bilateral relations between Ghana and China, while fostering the personal and professional development of its members.

Alhaji Haruna Mohammed Abubakar, the head of the beneficiary school, expressed gratitude to the Association for its benevolence. He described the occasion as historic and timely, providing much-needed relief to parents as the children began a new term. Alhaji Abubakar also appealed for infrastructural support for the school.
