A Memorandum of Understanding was signed Thursday between the Justice Ministry and the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO) to boost co-operation and establish joint work plans on the judicial and prison reform strategy (2016-2020).

This strategy is articulated around several axes, in particular the consecration of the independence of Justice, the definition of the criteria of the deontology of the judicial and penitentiary professions and the improvement of the quality of the services provided to the litigants.

The MoU was signed by Justice Minister Ghazi Jeribi and IDLO Director of Programmes Erwin van Ver Borght.

On this occasion, Jeribi affirmed the importance of carrying on efforts to implement the reform strategy of the judicial and penitentiary system and restore the litigants’ confidence in justice.

For his part, Erwin van Ver Borght reaffirmed the organisation’s determination to keep on co-operation with the Justice Ministry.
