MP Mohamed Frikha decides to sue Al Arabiya TV Channel

MP representing Ennahdha and businessman, Mohamed Frikha, founder of Syphax Airlines, has decided to take legal action against the Al Arabiya TV Channel and its owner Alwaleed Bin Talal.

In a statement to TAP Tuesday, he explained that his decision was motivated by “false information” and “serious accusations” which, he said, “are prejudice to the honor of an MP representing the Tunisian people and damage the reputation of a Tunisian airline.”

He was referring to the programme aired by the Arab television channel on August 26, 2017.

Frikha said he refused to be used to serve regional agendas on which Tunisia wants to remain neutral.”

TV channel Al Arabiya last Saturday aired an investigation on networks sending young Tunisians to Syria.

The documentary features testimonies from citizens and civil society activists as well as Tunisian deputies accusing the Ennahdha movement, associations and companies like Syphax Airlines of being involved.

Several deputies such as Leila Chettaoui and Ikram Ben Moulehom have repeatedly pointed the finger at businessman Mohamed Frikha, suspecting the involvement of his company in sending young Tunisians to Jihad.
