An MP sentenced to one year in prison over public indecency was arrested by security units.

The accused was tracked down in an agricultural farm in Nabeul, the Interior Ministry said Saturday in a press release without revealing his identity.

The arrest falls under the enforcement of a ruling against him by the Nabeul Court of First Instance on November 11.

The MP was sentenced by the Nabeul Court of First Instance to one year in prison over harassment and public indecency.

The case dates back to 2019 when a schoolgirl filed a complaint against the MP who was not prosecuted because he enjoyed the parliamentary immunity.
