The telecom giant made this commitment in a statement issued to coincide with the Cybersecurity Awareness Month, underscoring its proactive measures in digital safety. According to Ghana News Agency, the statement was signed by Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, and Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Corporate Communications Senior Manager, highlighting the importance of cybersecurity in today's interconnected world. Stephen Blewett, MTN Ghana's Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the shared responsibility of cybersecurity and detailed the company's ongoing efforts to enhance its digital ecosystem's security. In a bid to further these efforts, MTN Ghana is partnering with the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications to engage in discussions about the latest trends and threats in cybersecurity. This collaboration aims to involve stakeholders in various community setting s such as churches, mosques, and schools, focusing on topics like managing misinformation, digital parenting, and online safety. Bernard Acquah, MTN Ghana's Chief Information Officer, reiterated the necessity of cybersecurity in the digital age, emphasizing the company's commitment to empowering the community with knowledge and tools for online safety. He encouraged active participation in Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities and highlighted the importance of proactive digital security measures to tackle evolving online challenges. MTN Ghana has consistently marked Cybersecurity Awareness Month over the years, aiming to educate the public, promote safe online behavior, discuss emerging threats, and build cyber resilience.
