MTN MoMoFest to Climax Kumasi Edition with Rapperholic Concert

Kumasi: MobileMoney Limited, a subsidiary of MTN Ghana, is set to bring the MoMo Festival (MoMoFest) to Kumasi with a grand climax featuring the Rapperholic Concert, headlined by multiple award-winning artiste Sarkodie, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

According to Ghana News Agency, the two-day celebration, which opens with a cashless fair, forms part of efforts by MTN to promote financial inclusion, raise awareness about MoMo fraud prevention, and demonstrate the convenience of mobile money in daily transactions. Mr. Alfred Hammond, Senior Manager for Fintech Marketing at MobileMoney Limited, emphasized that MoMoFest was beyond entertainment and aimed to make financial services accessible, relatable, and rewarding for all, while also providing an opportunity to educate the public on safeguarding themselves from fraudsters.

As part of the Kumasi event, over 50 vendors will participate in a Cashless Market and Fair, where patrons will purchase goods and services using MoMo. Activities lined up include drama performances, a game show, the MoMo Keteke, and the Artiste Night in partnership with Sarkcess Music. Mr. Hammond mentioned that admission to the cashless fair is free, with access granted to customers who download the MoMo app. For the Rapperholic concert, tickets are available through a referral system on the app, rewarding customers who refer friends with regular and VIP tickets.

MTN has also arranged transportation for 100 winners from Accra to join the Kumasi event. Mr. Hammond reminded customers to remain vigilant during the festive season by observing the three golden rules of MoMo: never disclose a PIN, never allow strangers to transact on one's behalf, and remember that official MTN/MoMo calls only come from 0244300000. He further cautioned the public against fraudulent schemes such as fake MoMo Capital investments, urging them to verify all official promotions on MTN's social media handles.

The event is expected to attract thousands of patrons, with the Rapperholic Concert serving as the climax on Saturday night.
