Municipal Elections: Administrative court announces results of appeals at first instance on litigation of candidatures

The Trial Chambers of the Administrative Court in Tunis and in the regions, ruled on 68 appeals lodged with the Court in the context of the litigation of candidatures for the municipal elections.

In a statement released on Friday, the Administrative Court reported that 65 judgments were handed down: 26 appeals were rejected on the form, 33 on the merits and 6 others were annulled.

The Court specifies that the procedure of appeal against court decisions rendered in first instance is within three days from the delivery of the judgment, in accordance with the provisions of Article 49 of the Organic Law on Elections.

Imed Ghabri, spokesperson of the Administrative Court, said that the court decisions on the three remaining cases entrusted to the court of first instance of Gafsa will be announced on March 19.
