Murderers of Mohamed Zouari identified (Sofiene Selliti)

The identities of the murderers of 49-year-old Tunisian Engineer Mohamed Zouari, who was shot dead on December 2016 outside his house in Sfax governorate, were revealed, spokesperson for the Judicial Counter-Terrorism Division Sofien Selliti said at a press conference Wednesday.

Both perpetrators are Bosnian nationals. Bosnian authorities have refused to hand over one of them, who was arrested on March 13 in Croatia, to the Tunisian authorities.

Letters rogatory related to this case have been sent to seven countries, namely Bosnia, Egypt, Lebanon, Sweden, Turkey and Cuba, he explained.

As for the Chafik Jaraya case, Selliti indicated that the businessman is accused in four cases of forgery and falsification of records and that his case is submitted to the Economic and Financial Division.

The Criminal Chamber of the Tunis Court of Appeal has decided to stop procedures in one of the cases. The other three are currently in the hands of the investigating judges, Selliti added.
