NADMO Engages Hohoe Drivers and Students on Sanitation and Road Safety

Hohoe: The Hohoe Municipal Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has conducted a sensitisation program for the learners of the Presbyterian Basic School and members of the Hohoe Cooperative Transport Society. The program focused on educating participants about preventing domestic accidents, proper sanitation, road safety, and the importance of tree planting, with the aim of promoting a clean environment and reducing road casualties.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Hilarius Kofi Gockel, the Hohoe Municipal Director of NADMO, emphasized that the sensitisation is part of the organisation’s quarterly mandate. He highlighted that educating drivers is crucial for reducing road accidents and traffic violations. In addition, empowering students with knowledge about sanitation and fire prevention can have a ripple effect, as they can share this information with peers and family members.

Mr. Gockel further mentioned that NADMO intends to expand this educational initiative to various communities and target groups within the municipality, aiming to enhance resilience against environmental challenges.

Mr. Ephraim Gudu, Secretary of the Cooperative Transport Society, remarked on the value of the education provided, underscoring key preventive measures related to road safety. He expressed the hope that drivers would implement the lessons learned to ensure safe driving practices.
