National Apprenticeship Coordinator Encourages Trainees to Value Skills Over Certificates

Accra: The Central Regional Coordinator of the National Apprenticeship Programme, Mr. Ebenezer Abeiku Essien, has urged apprentices to maintain their focus and commitment to their training, highlighting that success is not solely dependent on formal education.

According to Ghana News Agency, during his tour of the Assin Central Municipality, Mr. Essien pointed out that trades such as makeup artistry, fashion design, electrical engineering, and mechanics can lead to prosperous and fulfilling careers. He emphasized the importance of taking practical training seriously, noting that entrepreneurship and vocational skills can lay a solid foundation for a better future.

Mr. Essien reassured apprentices that the government is making significant investments in their development and encouraged them to remain disciplined and avoid dropping out. He warned that any apprentice who abandons their training may face the reclamation of sponsorship funds from their parents.

On behalf of the regional apprenticeship leaders, Mr. Asare Osuman, founder of Classic Design and Training Fashion, praised President Mahama for fulfilling his promises and urged the government to continue providing apprentices with the necessary tools and resources. He encouraged all trainees to remain focused and dedicated to their craft to build successful careers.
