The minister said that nearly 40,000 young people took part in the 1,230 dialogue forums organised in different regions of the country. “This is an evidence of the impact on young people of the initiative of the President of the Republic Beji Caied Essebsi which was launched on January 14th on the occasion of the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the revolution.

She Commended the participation of youths representatives of all parties, political and civil movements, whose sole objective was the issue of youth, leaving aside their political or ideological differences.

In turn, Chokri Terzi, Adviser to the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of this congress for the stakeholders because it will open new horizons to an essential fringe of the Tunisian society which does not benefit of enough interest despite its active participation in all stages of the political transition in the country.

“The philosophy of the initiative of the President of the Republic lays on the need to find a broad national consensus on the questions of youth because they concern the different sectors added Chokri Terzi. He evoked in this regard the events on the international scene and the participation of some young people in battles in conflict zones.

For her part, Secretary of State for Youth reviewed the results of the Societal Youth Congress, stating that the proceedings of the forum (6) will be formulated in a general report.
