“New progress in public-private partnership, for digital transformation in Tunisia” (Noomane Fehri)

“There is a new advance in the public-private partnership in the field of digital transformation in Tunisia,” said former Minister of Information and Communication Technologies, Noomane Fehri, on Tuesday in a statement to TAP, during the 10th edition of economic meetings at the Institut du monde arabe in Paris.

Fehri presented, at this meeting under the theme: “Digital transformation in the Arab world: challenges and opportunities”, the programme of Tunisia in the field of new technologies: “Digital Tunisia 2020”.

He said that this transformation is on the right track in terms of planning, despite the slowing pace of the project’s implementation, stressing that the private sector is becoming aware of the importance of digital transformation and that the public / private partnership (PPP) is on a good track.

The former ICT minister recalls the four pillars of the plan “Digital Tunisia 2020” which is based on the generalisation of connection, digital education, e-government and amendment of laws. “A start-up platform that aims to transform the industry will be created thanks to the strategic national plan, Tunisia Digital 2020”.

Referring to the obstacles to the implementation of this project, the former minister considers that financing is one of the main problems that arise, given the need for partnerships with other actors, particularly in France and other countries. in Morocco.

Economic meetings have been organised by the Institut du monde arabe in Paris since 2014. “This is a meeting and exchange platform for business leaders from both shores of the Mediterranean” said Institut du monde arabe President Jack Lang.
