Tunis: The Tunisian film industry has once again affirmed its prominence on the Arab stage with the inclusion of seven distinguished professionals and two esteemed national structures in the 2026 Golden 101 list, as announced by the Arab Cinema Center (ACC). According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the ACC's prestigious annual list showcases the most influential figures in the Arab film industry who have made significant contributions over the past year. The profiles of these honorees will be featured in the 26th issue of Arab Cinema Magazine, set to be distributed at the 79th Cannes Film Festival from May 12 to 23. The Tunisian representatives on this esteemed list include filmmakers Kaouther Ben Hania, Leyla Bouzid, Mehdi Hmili, and Franco-Tunisian Erige, as well as actor Dhafer L'Abidine and composer Amine Bouhafa. Noteworthy national structures such as Cinetelefilms, Nomadis Images, and the Carthage Film Festival (JCC) were also recognized. From May 2025 to April 2026, these individuals and organizati ons have significantly advanced Arab cinema through their films, festival organization, pivotal deal-making, and support for emerging talent. Each honoree has earned their placement through measurable impact within the industry. The 2026 Golden 101 list comprises a diverse mix of returning veterans and fresh faces, with a notable representation of Arab women. It includes 20 filmmakers, eight actors, 18 production companies, seven crew members, and seven festivals. Additionally, the list features four NGOs, three art houses, seven funders, six broadcasters and streamers, nine enablers, and 11 exhibitors and distributors, all dedicated to promoting Arab cinema beyond regional boundaries.
