Nkwanta South MCE calls for stakeholders’ collaboration on the DRIP initiative


Mr Felix Owusu-Gyimah, the Municipal Chief Executive of Nkwanta South, has called for effective stakeholder collaboration to execute government initiatives.

Mr Owusu-Gyimah was speaking to the chiefs, community leaders, and residents of the Municipality during the unveiling of the new equipment for the District Road Programme (DRIP) emphasised the importance of unity and cooperation among the communities, the assembly and traditional authorities.

He said the unveiling of the equipment was not just a government initiative but a collective responsibility that required the support and involvement of every citizen.

Mr Owusu-Gyimah added that the newly acquired equipment, including graders, excavators, water tanker, concrete mixture, and truck, were expected to significantly enhance road maintenance and construction efforts in the municipality.

The initiative was also expected to create job opportunities for local labourers and stimulate economic activities by facilitating the movement of goods and services.

he MCE said he was optimistic that the new machinery would facilitate timely road repairs and upgrades, ultimately improving the quality of life for the people of Nkwanta.

He urged the community to support government initiatives aimed at development.

The various traditional chiefs present at the event commended the government for such an initiative that would facilitate road improvement within the municipality and create job opportunities for the youth and stimulate economic activities.

They also called on the assembly to adopt a robust maintenance strategy to ensure the longevity of the newly acquired machinery.

The chiefs pledged their commitment, recognising the importance of good roads in fostering economic growth and enhancing connectivity within the area.

Madam Sekyere-Tijani, the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Nkwanta South Constituency, urged the residents to vote for her and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the President, to bring more development to the area and Ghana.
