Nkwanta south: Mr. Joseph Antwi Awal, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nkwanta South Municipality, has issued a caution to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) against using start-up items provided by the Municipal Assembly Common Fund as collateral for loans. Speaking during the presentation of these items, the MCE stressed that using essential business assets as collateral can jeopardise their lives if loan repayment becomes an issue.
According to Ghana News Agency, the MCE advised PWDs to exercise caution when considering loans, emphasising the importance of carefully reviewing the items and conditions. The goal, according to the MCE, was to support PWDs in establishing and growing their businesses without creating additional financial burdens.
Mr. Awal’s warning has been well-received by PWDs in Nkwanta South, who value guidance on smart financial management. The municipality remains committed to supporting the economic empowerment of PWDs and promoting inclusive development.
Mr. Evans Boanya, Municipal chairman of PWDs in Nkwanta South, thanked the MCE and government for their unwavering support. On behalf of the beneficiaries, he expressed appreciation to the MCE for providing start-up items to empower them in the municipality. He again commended the MCE’s efforts to improve the lives of PWDs, stating that the support would significantly enhance their economic prospects. He also acknowledged the government’s commitment to promoting inclusive development and empowering vulnerable groups.
