Minister of Social Affairs Mohamed Trabelsi said there is an unequal vaccine distribution between countries of the North and the South with 80% of vaccines channeled to rich countries.
There is need for the Arab Labour Organisation to ponder about the post-coronavirus period and its impact on the labour world with the emergence of new working patterns, Trabelsi also told the first coordination meeting of the Arab Group held on the sidelines of the 109th Session of the International Labour Conference.
Enhanced Arab coordination on issues of common interest, in relation mainly to development and social affairs, became an imperative, he added.
Trabelsi also emphasised the importance of unifying positions with the three production partners and build on the expertise of Arab member states of the International Labour Organisation.
The minister reiterated Tunisia’s support for the Palestinian cause and said it is important to put international solidarity to its advantage to help the Palestinian people recover their legitimate rights and establish an independent state.
