The Observatory for Transparency and Good Governance decried Washington’s continued “blatant and public interference” in the Tunisian State’s affairs, and “its exploitation of the economic situation to exert pressure on the Tunisian government.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, against the backdrop of the US Secretary of State’s remarks on the political situation in Tunisia, the observatory warned against “the policies of political blackmail exercised by the US administration in order to subject the Tunisian state to the dictates of its foreign policy,” citing as examples “the normalisation with the Zionist entity or the attempts to drag the country into international conflicts that no longer serve the interests of the Tunisian people.
The Observatory called for the prosecution before military courts for treason of any political party or civil organisation whose involvement in calls for foreign subservience has been established, reaffirming its commitment to national values and constants and keenness to guarantee the Tunisian State’s sovereignty.
