ONDCCE calls for setting clear deadline for exceptional measures

The National Observatory for the Defence of the Civilian Nature of the State (ONDCCE) called for setting a clear deadline for the exceptional measures and a programme of political, economic and social reforms.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Observatory underlined that this programme should be drawn up in collaboration with civil society and national professional organisations, warning of “the risks of attempting a new political experiment with unknown consequences, while the State is weak and the institutions fragile.”

The Observatory calls on civil society, organisations, personalities and national competences to work together to set up the legal and organisational bases guaranteeing democracy, the rule of law and social justice.

“The situation after July 25 should not overshadow the fact that the economic collapse, the social grumbling and the political impasse in which the country has ended up are the fault of the Ennahdha Movement, the main actor in political life since 2011, as well as of the parties that shared power with it,” it insisted.

The ONDCCE welcomed the “breath of modernism brought by the new government, which includes a respectable number of women.”
