“Following the information reported by some media and social networks about the disappearance of an individual in the city of Dakhla, February 7, and the discovery on February 9, of the body of another acquaintance of the missing person near the beach of the same city and following the notice received by the security services of Dakhla, the evening of February 7, on the disappearance of an individual who was the subject of a wanted notice for the benefit of his family, the public prosecutor’s office has given instructions to the judicial police for the opening of a thorough judicial investigation to clarify the circumstances of this incident, “said the judicial official in a statement released Wednesday.

Thus, a group of people were interviewed, including family members and acquaintances of the missing person, and an autopsy was performed on the body washed up on February 9 near a rocky area.

In the same context, according to the same source, the regional service of the judicial police of Dakhla has continued investigations and inquiries in collaboration with the national brigade of the judicial police and in coordination with the services of the Directorate General of territorial surveillance.

It was thus proceeded to the vision of the recordings of the cameras of surveillance installed in certain businesses and avenues which could have filmed the moment of the passage of the vehicle of the persons in question, in addition to the realization of an expertise on the phones.

The combing operation on the ground allowed the discovery of traces of blood in the deposit of the individual whose body was discovered near the beach and in the trunk of luggage of his car, as well as the discovery in a deserted place of the remains of charred bones and human teeth that have been subjected to a biological expertise to determine their identity.

In the same framework, DNA samples found in some places, in cars and on clothes were also taken in order to determine the genetic fingerprint of any person in connection with this case.

“The investigations and searches are continuing intensively until now in order to gather more data to clarify this case. Once completed, all appropriate legal measures will be taken in light of the results obtained, of which the public opinion will be informed in due course,” concluded the public prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Laayoune.
