Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui received Friday evening in Tunis US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan.
After the talk, the US official told TAP he had “a very interesting discussion” with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The meeting made it possible to take stock of the relations between the United States and Tunisia, he added, describing the bilateral relations as “excellent”.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of developing bilateral cooperation and identifying ways to diversify it in the two countries’ interests.
The views of Tunisia and the United States converge on several issues, he said.
According to the US Deputy Secretary of State, the meeting also allowed to exchange views and opinions on common challenges, including issues related to security and terrorism.
Bilateral cooperation in economic investment and the development of American companies in Tunisia were also mentioned during the talk, he specified.
The two ministers also discussed opportunities for economic and security cooperation, according to Sullivan.
