Over 60 Tunisian operators expected in Agrilevante 2017, October 12-15 in Bari

Over 60 Tunisian operators are expected at the 5th edition of the International Exhibition of Machinery, Plants and Technologies for Agricultural Production Agrilevante 2017 due to be held on October 12-15 in Bari (south Italy), Official in charge of the Tunis Office of the Italian Trade Promotion Agency (ICE) Elisa Salazar affirmed.

Taking the floor Wednesday at a press conference held for the first time in Tunisia, she added that an official Tunisian delegation will participate in B2B meetings with Italian enterprises operating in the sector of mechanical engineering and equipment for all types of agricultural work. This delegation’s visit will be organised thanks to the ICE’s support.

Seminars and technical meetings focusing on the various agricultural topics interesting Tunisia and other North African countries are on the agenda of Agrileventie 2017. More than 60 thousand visitors are expected in this event that will gather 300 exhibitors.

On this occasion, Italy’s Ambassador to Tunisia Raimondo De Cardona said that the Tunisian and Italian agricultural sectors have several similarities, adding that the agricultural machines produced by Italian industrialists are particularly adapted to the requirements of the Tunisian agriculture which is the key factor of the country’s economic relaunch.

For his part, Manager of the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation’s events FederUnacoma Marco Acerbi pointed out that this exhibition will offer the opportunity to revive economic relations between both countries in this specific sector. This event will present the widest range of agricultural machine models.

Italy is Tunisia’s second economic and trading partner after France with with a 14.5% market share in 2016.

In 2016, Italy exported to Tunisia agricultural equipment worth Euros 21.6 million, down by 33% compared to 2015.
