Parliament approves first demand guarantee contract for Euros 120-million loan from EIB

The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) adopted at a plenary session Tuesday an at-first demand guarantee between Tunisia and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

It pertains to a financing line granted to the Banque de l’Habitat (BH) for an amount of Euros 120 million, the equivalent of 357 million dinars to fund projects of very small enterprises (VSEs), small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and medium-sized enterprises (MSEs).

The credit will be repaid over a period of 10 years including three years of grace at a fixed interest rate for each tranche disbursed with a study bonus of Euros 70 thousand.

The appropriations provided for under the financing line will be distributed to economic enterprises at a rate of 10% to the benefit of VSEs, 60% to SMEs and 30% for MSEs.

The financing line will provide the necessary funding to the targeted companies with the cost of the project not exceeding Euros 25 million.

The same line will finance medium-sized companies whose cost varies between 25 and 50 million euros.
