Parliament Speaker meets Portuguese Prime Minister

Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Mohamed Ennaceur met, on Monday at Bardo Palace, Portuguese Prime Minister

Antonio Luis Santos da Costa and the delegation accompanying him.

Ennaceur stressed the historical and civilisational ties between the two countries, praising the strength of the diplomatic relations.

Both countries celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Speaker of Parliament also stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations in the economic and social fields, noting the importance of boosting the action of the Tunisia-Portugal parliamentary friendship group in the service of both countries, a statement from the HPR said.

For his part, the Portuguese Prime Minister hailed the success of the democratic process in Tunisia and the action taken by the Parliament on the road to the establishment of democratic institutions.

He affirmed his country’s willingness to expand the bilateral relations.
