Parliament to hold question-and-answer session with government officials next Saturday

The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) will be holding question-and-answer session with members of the government next Saturday at Bardo Palace.

The ministers concerned are Minister of Religious Affairs Ahmed Adhoum, Minister of Youth and Sport Majdouline Cherni and Minister of Cultural Affairs Mohamed Zine el Abidine, assessor of the HPR Speaker in charge of communication Mohamed Ben Souf said at the end of the meeting of the parliament Bureau.

He added that another plenary session will be held on January 23 to discuss the proposal of the law on the protection of farmers from theft, the amended articles of the draft organic law on common provisions between independent constitutional bodies and the draft organic law relating to the supplementary protocol of the Arab-Mediterranean Free Trade Agreement (Agadir Convention) on the accession of new states.

A draft law adopting the protocol of the Euro-Mediterranean agreement concerning the partnership between Tunisia, the European Union and its member countries, proposed by the government, has been tabled to the Parliamentary Human Rights, Freedoms and External Relations Committee, he added.

The meeting also focused on preparations for the special plenary to be convened for visiting French President Emmanuel Macron next February 1.

The opening of nominations for the Good Governance and Anti-Corruption Authority, adopted by the Electoral Committee, was also on the agenda of the HPR Bureau meeting.

Ben Souf said MP Ajmi Lourimi was designated representative of the HPR at the National Education, Science and Culture Committee, under the Ministry of Education.
