The labour union called for involving political parties and national organisations in the national dialogue which the Presidency of the Republic intends to organise.
“Only those parties which excluded themselves by instigating foreign sides in a bid to harm Tunisia need to be kept out,” Spokesperson for the Tunisian General Labour Union (French: UGTT) Sami Tahri Saturday told TAP.
Dialogue with youth is a strategic issue given the importance of this group, he further said. It is crucial to involve organisations which played a key role in supporting and giving guidance to young people, namely the Tunisian Red Crescent, Mourakiboun, I WATCH and national unions.
The labour union is strongly opposed to a return to the pre-July 25 system. A return to the parliamentary experience calls for legislative reforms, including the amendment of the law on parties and civil society organisations and a revamp of the election law.
President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed said Thursday a “sincere” and “loyal” dialogue will be launched with the participation of youth from all regions of the country. It will be different and will address several issues, mainly the political and election systems in Tunisia.
