Pentecost Children Ministry Donates Supplies to Nwawasua Basic School

Sunyani: The Children's Ministry of the Church of Pentecost, Sunyani Central, has provided educational resources to the Nwawasua Municipal Assembly Basic School. The donation includes over 2,000 exercise books, 106 boxes of pens, 886 packets of pencils, 36 packets of sharpeners, 36 packets of erasers, 65 mathematical sets, 125 packets of whiteboard markers, 206 boxes of chalk, and 40 hard copy Bibles.

According to Ghana News Agency, Pastor Stephen Denkyi Asante, the Head Pastor of the Sunyani Central District of the Church of Pentecost, mentioned during a brief ceremony in Nwawasua, a farming community, that the donation aligns with the activities planned for the children's ministry's weeklong celebration. The church recognized the school's need for support, prompting the ministry to offer assistance, stating, "We believe it's our duty to support the less privileged."

Pastor Asante encouraged other churches and corporations to also contribute to the advancement of education in deprived areas. He advised families and teachers to instill discipline and reverence for God in students, emphasizing that it takes a collective effort to raise children to become responsible adults.

Mr. Abraham Nsowah Kaabawi, the Headmaster of the school, expressed gratitude to the donors, assuring that the materials would be used appropriately. He noted that the supplies would alleviate the financial burden on parents, as the school currently has 530 pupils and students. Mr. Kaabawi also appealed for additional desks and support to complete the kindergarten block project underway at the school.

Pastor Daniel Dickson, the Nwawasua District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost, urged the government to focus on improving educational infrastructure in underserved communities to enhance effective teaching and learning.
