(TAP) – Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi, on Friday, called for a tripartite meeting with the President of the Republic and the Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (ARP), to identify a solution to the current political crisis.
«The three sides should work together without mediation and away from any divergences,» he said, stressing the need to hold such meetings on a regular basis.
He was speaking to reporters on the fringes of the fifth meeting of a series of consultations in Beit El Hikma, Carthage on economic reform and the revival of public investment.
He called Thursday’s meeting between President of the Republic Kais Saied and ARP Speaker Rached Ghannouchi «positive,» stressing the need for the authorities to «work hand in hand and directly by favouring dialogue.”
On the possibility of withdrawing confidence from the government in six months, Mechichi said these are «baseless leaks and have nothing to do with reality.»
President Kais Saied, on Thursday, received ARP Speaker Rached Ghannouchi in Carthage, on the 65th Anniversary of the National Army.
