Tuobodom: Police have arrested 24 young men in connection with an uproar that erupted at Tuobodom in the Techiman North District of the Bono Region. A timely intervention of security operatives who moved in to forestall the exchange of firearms between the two feuding factions, which had since left many injured, including children.
According to Ghana News Agency, the exchange of firearms is a result of a protracted chieftaincy dispute that nearly turned bloody. The incident occurred Tuesday, April 21, 2025, and some of the victims who sustained serious gunshot wounds were receiving treatment at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.
Mr. Johnson Adom, the Techiman North District Chief Executive, who confirmed the arrest, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that calm had since returned to the town as police investigations continued. He urged the feuding factions to lay their arms down and allow peace to prevail.
Mr. Adom further urged them to remain law-abiding, saying, “there is no need for addressing our grievance with firearms when the courts are there.”
