The political instability in the country since 2011 and the succession of governments without a real treatment of the demands of the Revolution namely, employment, freedom, and dignity, are the real problem, deputy secretary general of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), Sami Tahri said Saturday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the regional conference of cadres of the local labour union in Siliana, Tahri recalled that the last statement by the executive bureau had highlighted the explosive general situation in the country.
The local meetings in the various governorates will be crowned by a meeting on January 14, he noted.
On the latest increases in the public service, Tahri said they do not meet the aspirations especially after the increase in prices of various products and an inflation that has reached 10.2pc with a forecast to reach 11pc in the second quarter of 2023. The solution is to initiate a national dialogue with partners to develop a scheme to overcome this crisis, he said.
