Pretoria:President Kais Saied met with Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri and the Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, Fethi Zouhair Nouri, highlighting the importance of a welfare state.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the President stressed the central role of the Central Bank of Tunisia in supporting the national economy and ensuring financial stability. He underscored the necessity of law enforcement for wealth creation and equitable distribution.

President Saied noted that state-owned banks should bolster the government's efforts. He also emphasized that all banks must ease access to loans and adhere to the Central Bank's directives. The President reiterated the constitutional mandate for public and private sector collaboration based on social justice, asserting the need for a welfare state that genuinely benefits all citizens.

The President addressed the issue of rising prices by advocating for import rationalization and a vigorous fight against corruption. He clarified that corruption extends beyond embezzlement to include fraud, public service obstruction, and mistreatment of citizens by administrative bodies, all of which must be decisively addressed.

He warned against actions intended to undermine the revolutionary process, asserting that such efforts will fail as long as citizens remain vigilant. In response to those suggesting that fulfilling the people's aspirations is an illusion, President Saied proclaimed that those who sacrificed for liberation would not be discouraged by any maneuvering.
