Carthage: President of the Republic Kais Saied held a meeting on Thursday afternoon in Carthage with Speaker of the Assembly of People’s Representatives Ibrahim Bouderbala and President of the National Council of Regions and Districts Imed Derbali. “What unites us and cannot be disputed is our homeland, our independence, the state and its perenniality,” the Head of State stated in a press release. He emphasized the importance of aligning with the priorities set by the Tunisian people, who are the true holders of power, and fulfilling the roles assigned by the constitution.
According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the President acknowledged the natural divergence of approaches and views under the constitution. However, he stressed the sacred national duty to support the people, who consistently demonstrate deep awareness. He called on officials to accelerate efforts, as they share a common source of sovereignty, to alleviate the causes of public suffering.
President Saied highlighted the ongoing efforts to
create a new history for Tunisia, founded on justice and equality, where no one is above the law. He reiterated the commitment to combat corruption without any truce. He also forewarned that “the moment of truth” will soon arrive for those who continue to engage in actions detrimental to the country.
The President noted that the Tunisian people are eager for tangible progress in all sectors, some of which is already becoming visible. He urged Tunisians to unite and harness the nation’s collective genius. Additionally, he expressed optimism about the youth’s potential to actively contribute to the country’s future and overcome upcoming challenges.
