Tunisia: President Kais Saied held a phone call on Monday evening with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to congratulate him and the Egyptian people on the 52nd anniversary of the Crossing Day, which took place on October 6, 1973. According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the President emphasized that this historic crossing, through which the nation regained its dignity and pride, will remain immortalized and serve as a source of inspiration for reclaiming all past glories. The call also served as an occasion for both leaders to reaffirm their shared determination and steadfast will to further develop the distinguished historical relations linking the two countries and their peoples. The October War was launched simultaneously by Egypt and Syria against the Zionist entity in 1973, lasting from October 6 to 24. The war involved coordinated, surprise attacks: one by the Egyptian army on the occupied Sinai front and another by the Syrian army on the Golan Heights front. The Egyptian army achieved its obj ective by crossing the Suez Canal, destroying the Bar-Lev Line, and establishing a defensive line east of the canal.
