Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) Marouane Abassi, on Thursday, handed to President Kais Saied the report of the BCT for the year 2020.
The Head of State discussed with the Governor of the BCT, at a meeting held at the Palace of Carthage, the economic and financial situation in Tunisia, as well as the necessary and urgent reforms to be undertaken, concurrently with the political reforms, in order to promote growth, the Presidency said in a statement.
The meeting also focused on issues related to public finance and public debt, as well as efforts to develop the supplementary finance law for 2021, and the finance law for 2022
Saied also discussed with the Governor of the BCT the plausible scenarios to get out of the crisis, especially after several economic sectors resumed normal activity.
Tunisia’s relations with international agencies and donors during the next period was also reviewed.
