Tunis: President Kais Saied on Thursday presided over a ceremony at the Martyrs' Garden in Sijoumi, Tunis, to mark the 88th anniversary of Martyrs' Day, which commemorates the events of 9 April 1938. According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the Head of State saluted the flag to the strains of the national anthem, laid a wreath at the martyrs' memorial, and recited the Opening Chapter of the Qur'an in prayer for the souls of the noble martyrs. On this occasion, Saied met with a number of citizens and listened to their concerns, including a group of unemployed higher education graduates. They called in particular for the accelerated implementation of Law No. 18 of 2025, which stipulates exceptional provisions for the recruitment of higher education graduates who have been unemployed for a long time in the public sector and civil service.
