Primetime Limited Condemns Social Media Attacks on NSMQ Contestants.

CAPE COAST: Primetime Limited, organisers of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), has condemned personal attacks on contestants of the competition on social media. Nana Akua Mensa-Bonsu, the Managing Director, emphasized the distinction between trolling schools and engaging in cyber bullying against individual contestants. According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Akua Mensa-Bonsu addressed the issue during the closing ceremony and grand finale of the 2024 NSMQ in Cape Coast. She expressed her disapproval of the personal attacks on contestants, highlighting that these participants have dedicated significant effort in preparation for the competition. Nana Mensa-Bonsu pointed out that while good-natured trolling of schools is part of the event's culture, targeting the contestants personally for ridicule or harassment is unacceptable. She stressed the importance of respecting the young participants, urging the public to show empathy and support for them. In her address, she reminded everyone that the conte stants are teenagers who deserve respect and encouragement rather than criticism. Nana Mensa-Bonsu also expressed gratitude to all those who supported the event, especially those who contributed to its popularity on social media, keeping it among the top trends in recent weeks.
