Private clinic case: public prosecutor initiates judicial investigation against 26 employees (Sofiene Selliti)

The public prosecutor ordered the opening of a judicial investigation against 26 employees of a private clinic for embezzling large sums of money from the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM), deputy public prosecutor and spokesperson for the judicial financial division Sofiene Selliti said Wednesday.

Twenty-two employees were taken into police custody and four others are at large, he told TAP.

Selliti said the investigating judge has already interrogated all the defendants and issued committal orders against 22 employees.

The case has been entrusted to the judicial financial division for more than two months and the investigation is still ongoing.

He added that employees of this clinic used falsified invoices to misappropriate large sums of money from the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM).
