Procedural flaw behind postponement of extraordinary parliamentary session (Nizar Amemi)

The Bureau of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR), on Monday, failed to reach an agreement on holding an extraordinary parliamentary session due to a procedural flaw.

The session will therefore be postponed, said Bureau member, MP Nizar Amemi.

Speaking to TAP, Amemi (Popular Front) explained that this failure consists in the existence of false signatures attributed to MPs.

“We still expect a request for an extraordinary parliamentary session signed by 73 MPs,” he said, stressing the possibility of reaching a compromise on Tuesday on holding an extraordinary session dedicated to pursuing the debate on filling vacancies in the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE).
