A programme to promote Saharan tourism in the region of Tozeur is under development by the Department of Tourism. Its objective is to promote the tourist products of this southern Tunisian region and to encourage tourists to spend longer stays there.

Visiting Tozeur on Friday, Tourism Minister Mohamed Moez Belhassine learnt about the various tourist projects in the region and called on the promoters to adapt their economic and tourist offer to the region’s specificities.

He underlined, according to the Tourism Ministry, the need to develop the tourist circuits in Tozeur and to involve the craft villages, the cultural spaces and monuments and the most important oases, with the aim of making them more attractive and boost the economic activity in the region.
