Provisional CSM staff return to work (Statement)

The staff of the provisional Supreme Judicial Council (CSM), on Wednesday, went back to work, announced Secretary-General of the Council Mohamed ben Ayed.

The staff were invited by the supervisory authorities to join their posts, Ben Ayed told TAP, noting that no member of the dissolved Council was present at the headquarters.

No exceptional police deployment outside the council’s headquarters was reported, according to the same source.

President of the dissolved CSM Youssef Bouzakher had indicated that the Council’s staff were barred from accessing the headquarters on February 7.

The seat of the CSM was shut down on Monday, February 7 and security forces barred staff from accessing it, Youssef Bouzakher said.

He told TAP he «holds the Interior Ministry responsible for this action, in the absence of any legal or regulatory provision that allows it
