Public Prosecutor’s Office denies having received complaint from Interior Minister against lawyer Noureddine Bhiri

The Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Tunis Court of Appeal denied having received a complaint from the Minister of Interior against lawyer Noureddine Bhiri until 12:30 pm on Tuesday, said spokesperson of the Tunis Court of Appeal, Habib Torkhani, in a statement to TAP.

This clarification comes after a statement given on Tuesday by the President of the Bar, Brahim Bouderbala, to a private radio station, in which he said he had been notified of a complaint filed by the Minister of Interior to the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Tunis against Noureddine Bhiri. The complaint is currently pending with the public prosecutor’s office.

Since December 31, 2021, Ennahdha leader, MP and lawyer Noureddine Bhiri has been under house arrest. Bhiri’s defence committee denounced an “arbitrary detention”.
