Rabat – Head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, and Mauritanian Prime Minister, Mohamed Ould Bilal Messoud, expressed, Friday in Rabat, their satisfaction with the accelerated development experienced by the Moroccan-Mauritanian cooperation process during the past few years.
According to a press release from the Department of the Head of Government, the two sides stressed, during their talks held in the presence of minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, which has become a necessity in view of the challenges facing the Maghreb region and the major role played by the two countries in consolidating regional stability and security.
They also underlined the importance of the 8th session of the Moroccan-Mauritanian High Joint Commission as a mechanism for the consecration of global strategic cooperation, in execution of the Instructions of the two Heads of State, according to the same source.
This session reflects the common achievements shared by Morocco and Mauritania, the two countries being bound by distinguished and fraternal relations at the highest level, under the leadership of the two Heads of State, HM King Mohammed VI and His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
The eighth session of the Moroccan-Mauritanian High Joint Commission is co-chaired by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and the Mauritanian Prime Minister, Mohamed Ould Bilal Messoud, who is accompanied by a delegation made up of ministers, senior officials and businessmen.
This eighth session offers the opportunity to give new impetus to Moroccan-Mauritanian relations and consolidate cooperation at all levels.
It will be marked by the signing of several important agreements in various areas.
