“Real Congress for Youths” to be held by three associations, Friday

The Real Congress for Youths will be held on Friday in Tunis, the Alternative Youth Network organisation (RAJ-Tunisia), I Watch and Fanni Raghman Anni association announced.

RAJ-Tunisia Executive Director Zied Zarrai stressed at a press briefing held on Thursday in Tunis that the congress will be crowning a series of dialogues that started on November 28 and affected 978 youths aged between 20 and 30.

The goal of this congress is to initiate a real debate with youths and to not consider them as study sample as was the case of the societal dialogue on youth launched by the President of the Republic, he added.

Taking the floor, I Watch Representative Youssef Cherif said the congress will treat real issues of youths such as emigration, extremism, youths and the State, education, economic problems and unemployment.

He called on all youths to massively participate in these debates in order to make their voices heard and develop a document synthesizing all their social, material, psychological, cultural and political problems, stressing that this document will be the first step of a series of dialogues to run throughout 2017.

This document will help implement a complete strategy of youth, Member of Raj-Tunisia association Malek Zakraoui said stressing that since the kick-off of this dialogue, the three associations hosted and directed discussions with youths in university hostels, youths centres, popular neighbourhoods, cafes and through internet.

This strategy will be developed by youths to youths in collaboration with the civil society in order to make their voices heard by the concerned authorities, she pointed out adding that this strategy will then be presented to the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR).
